Arrival at Skydive Castroville
Arrive at Skydive Castroville, located about 25 miles west of San Antonio. Check in, meet your USPA-certified tandem instructor, and run through the pre-jump briefing — body position, exit technique, the deployment sequence. It's straightforward and the instructors are experienced.
The Jump
You board a jump aircraft and climb to 13,000–14,000 feet over the Texas Hill Country. The door opens, you exit, and approximately 60 seconds of freefall follows at up to 120 mph before the canopy deploys. The parachute opens over the Texas landscape and you have a quiet, peaceful canopy descent back to the drop zone with views across the Hill Country.
